Suspended Floating Helium Ceiling Balloons
Balloons suspended magically floating overhead
Helium filled balloons suspended floating over head in the ceiling are one of the very best ways to decorate a ceiling space for any celebration. The balloons appear to be magically suspended in the air bringing your celebration to life with colours chosen specifically by you for your event.
Our suspended helium filled floating balloons are suspended on fishing wire to give the illusion of them magically floating overhead transforming a venue.
Traditionally we use both Metallic Orbz Balloons and Latex Giant Balloons in a suspended ceiling.
How does it work?
Bubblegum Balloons installation team will come onsite to set up the balloons at your venue. We inflate some of the balloons at our Warehouse and bring them in our vans inflated and ready to go, other balloons will be inflated onsite with portable helium canisters at the Bubblegum Balloons Warehouse, all our latex balloons are treated with high-float which increases their life span to approximately 5 days.
You can choose from a wide range of colours for your inflated helium floating ceiling balloons. You can see a selection of our suspended floating helium ceiling balloon installations here.
What does it cost?
Our inflated helium floating ceiling balloons are traditionally created using Orbz and Giant Balloons. The cost of the Orbz is £17.28 and the cost of the Giant Balloon is £28.80 the set up fee starts from £216 – all prices and inclusive of VAT.
How many balloons do you need for a helium filled floating ceiling balloon installation?
To calculate how many helium floating balloons you need to create a suspended ceiling of balloons in a room you first need to know the width and the length of the room.
If the length of the room is 10m and the width is 5m, by multiplying these figures together we get the size of the room in Meters Squared i.e. 10m x 5m = 50m2.
Bubblegum Balloons recommends a quantity of 1 inflated helium filled floating ceiling balloons per 3m2 to achieve a suspended balloon ceiling.
So to calculate how many suspended floating helium ceiling balloons we need for a room that is 50m2 we divide the room by 3 - .i.e. 50 / 3 = 16 which is the recommended quantity of balloons.
For a more dense suspended helium balloon ceiling we would recommend increasing this quantity depending on how full you would like it – we can help you with this.
Will a Suspended Floating Helium Balloon Ceilings Work at My Venue?
Suspended helium floating balloon ceilings work where your ceiling is high enough – we would suggest a height of 4m + to allow space for the balloon to be magically floating overhead.
If you have a marquee with a lower wall height but an apex that is higher the suspended ceiling will work beautifully.
What do you do if a Balloon Escapes to a High Ceiling?
In the unlikely event that a helium balloon escapes to a high ceiling? Never fear we have a nifty trick of balloon fishing to bring any escaped balloons down.
We will ensure the installation is perfect when we leave but if this happens when you are taking the balloons down just call us and we will pop back and help.
What do you do if my Venue says I am not allowed Helium Balloons?
Firstly it would be good to find out why. In our experience venues often have this rule to ensure they do not have escaped balloons languishing on the ceiling long after the event is over.
If this is the case then see the problem noted above – we will ensure that no balloons are left on the ceiling!
Another common misconception is that helium is flammable. Helium is a benign gas that is non-flammable.
Can I Make My Own Helium filled floating balloon ceiling?
Yes, in short you can 100% create your own helium filled balloon ceiling!
You will need;
Step Ladder
Scissors
Helium canister – available on Amazon starting from £32.99 and fills upto 2 Giant Balloons
Fishing Wire – available on Amazon starting from £3.99 for a roll
Balloons – There are a number of options including Party Delights where the Giant Balloons start from £6.99 or £5.99 for the orbz. There are options on Amazon which start from £4.99 for 5 balloons
And time to inflate them – we would suggest allowing a couple of hours to inflate and install 16 balloons if you don’t have experience of inflating balloons. This is 7.5 mins per balloon.
Top tip – if you inflate your own balloons they will last approximately 24 hours so you will be able to inflate and install your balloons the morning of your celebration.
